A suit that starts with you.
Your suit is cut for your chest, your posture and the way your right shoulder sits slightly lower than your left. That fixes what alterations can't. An off-the-rack suit is cut for an imaginary average, and past a certain point you're fighting the original cut instead of wearing the suit.
A custom suit starts from your own measurements. Your chest, waist, seat, sleeve, rise, and posture are measured, or fitted from our try-on garments. If you want extra certainty, that pattern can first be cut in inexpensive cloth, an optional first-fit garment, worn, assessed, corrected, and only then transferred to your real cloth. That pattern belongs to you and lives on file, and every suit we build after the first one starts from something that already knows your body. The result isn't just a suit that fits. It's a suit that looks like it was always supposed to be on you.
Florida's climate demands more from tailoring than most markets. Suits worn here need to breathe through humidity, hold a line in the heat, and travel well between air-conditioned interiors and outdoor events. With 33 years of dressing Southwest Florida, we know which cloths from Holland & Sherry, VBC, and Caccioppoli perform here, and which ones look great in the cloth book but suffer the moment the temperature climbs. That knowledge is part of every suit we build.

Every custom suit commission covers the following, so there are no surprises when the invoice arrives.
- Pattern built from your own measurements, never a stock size
- Fitted to your body, including a posture and shoulder-asymmetry assessment
- Fabric consultation from our cloth books, with the price set by the cloth you choose and known before anything is cut
- Jacket and trousers as standard; vest included with a three-piece suit
- At least two appointments: measuring (or a try-on garment) and a final fitting, with more sessions if needed. A first-fit garment is available as an add-on
- Working button cuffs (surgeon's cuffs) on jacket sleeves

How much does a custom suit cost at Florida Suit Guy?
Custom suits start at $1,095 for a two-piece and $1,195 for a three-piece. Across our mid-range cloths the average is about $1,895 for a two-piece and $2,245 for a three-piece. Every suit is built to a pattern made from your measurements. There are no stock sizes. The final price depends on the cloth you choose, and you will know it before anything is cut.
How long does a custom suit take?
Most suits are completed in 6–8 weeks (made to measure) or 8–10 weeks (handmade to measure) from the initial fitting. Rush timelines can sometimes be accommodated for upcoming events. Contact us before booking to confirm. For weddings or milestone occasions, start four to six months out so there is room for fittings and final refinements.
What's the difference between made to measure and handmade to measure?
Both start with a pattern built from your own measurements, kept on file for every reorder. Made to measure is cut and assembled by our partner workshop with careful finishing. Handmade to measure adds hand work throughout, including a floating canvas, hand-set sleeves and lining, a hand-sewn under collar, and handmade buttonholes, and takes about two weeks longer (8–10 weeks instead of 6–8). It is an upgrade of $400 on a jacket, $150 on trousers, $150 on a vest, and $100 on a shirt.
Do you travel to me for fittings?
Yes. The Fort Myers showroom at 1617 Hendry St. Suite 208 is the primary fitting location, but we travel throughout Southwest Florida: Naples, Cape Coral, Bonita Springs, Estero, Marco Island, and beyond. There is no travel fee if you order. If you don’t order after a visit outside the immediate Fort Myers area, there is a $50 travel fee.
