Made to measure, or handmade to measure.
The same pattern, built from your body. The difference is how much of the garment is finished by hand, and how long it takes.
| Made to measure | Handmade to measure | |
|---|---|---|
| Your pattern | Built from your own measurements and kept on file. | The same pattern, built from your own measurements and kept on file. |
| How it is made | Cut and assembled by our partner workshop, with careful finishing and functional machine-made buttonholes. | Made with hand work throughout: floating canvas, hand-set sleeves and lining, a hand-sewn under collar, and handmade buttonholes. |
| Lead time | 6–8 weeks | 8–10 weeks |
| Fittings | Fitting at the Fort Myers studio, or at your home or office. | The same personal fitting and final-fitting adjustments, plus a longer window for complimentary adjustments after delivery (90 days instead of 30). |
| Best for | Business suits, everyday wear, and wardrobes you will add to over time. | Milestone pieces: your wedding suit, a signature jacket, or the one you wear for decades. |
What it adds to the price.
Handmade to measure is an upgrade on top of the made-to-measure price for the cloth you choose.
| Jacket or sport coat | +$400 |
|---|---|
| Trousers | +$150 |
| Waistcoat | +$150 |
| Dress shirt | +$100 |
Example: a two-piece suit in AA cloth is $1,695 made to measure, and $2,245 handmade to measure. Your final price depends on the cloth and details you choose, and you will know it before anything is cut.
- Floating canvas that moulds to your posture over time
- Hand-set sleeves
- Hand-set lining
- Hand-sewn under collar
- Handmade buttonholes
Trousers and waistcoats receive matching hand finishing. I will confirm the details for each piece when you order.
Want to try the fit first? A first-fit garment is available with either option. A two-piece is $300.
Both options start with the same pattern.
Your measurements and your posture become a pattern on paper. The pattern is laid out on the cloth, chalked and cut. Then the garment is built from it. Your pattern stays on file, so every garment after the first starts from something that already knows your body.

Before you choose.
Do you draft a pattern from scratch for each client?
No. I build your pattern from your measurements, which is faster, kept on file for every reorder, and what makes made to measure and handmade to measure such a good fit for most clients.
Who makes the garments?
Your garment is made by our partner workshop to the pattern we build from your measurements. I measure and fit you, build the pattern, and handle any adjustments personally after delivery.
Can I get a trial garment before the real cloth is cut?
Yes. A first-fit garment in inexpensive cloth lets you try the fit before your cloth is cut. A two-piece first-fit garment is $300. Ask about individual pieces.
Can I mix tiers in one order?
Yes. A common choice is a handmade jacket with made-to-measure trousers, or the other way round. We will price it at your consultation.
