How a Custom Suit Is Made
Your suit, shirt or any garment is 100% custom-made to fit only you. Here's how a commission comes together, start to finish, on your schedule.
How long does a custom suit take? Made to measure takes 6 to 8 weeks from your first appointment, handmade to measure 8 to 10, and American Made 12 to 14. Need it sooner? Made to measure can be rushed in about 3 weeks or 2 weeks, for a fee. The first appointment takes an hour to an hour and a half.

Measurements
The same visit
Your body is measured, or fitted from our try-on garments, to capture your exact posture and proportions. No two bodies are alike, and no two patterns should be either. No salespeople: I take your measurements myself, and my team builds your pattern from them.
Step 03 
Cutting & Sewing
Made to measure 6 to 8 weeks, handmade 8 to 10, American Made 12 to 14
Your individual pattern is cut and assembled at our partner workshop, with careful finishing.
Step 04 
Final Fitting
Adjustments at the final fitting are included
You try on your finished garment and we adjust every line until it is right. The result is a fit nothing off-the-rack can touch.
Pattern making
Step 02 on paper: your pattern.
Your measurements and your posture become a pattern on paper. The pattern is laid out on the cloth, chalked and cut. Then the garment is built from it. Your pattern stays on file, so every garment after the first starts from something that already knows your body.

Want to see the fit before your cloth is cut?
A first-fit garment is a test version of your garment in inexpensive cloth. You try it on, I mark the changes, and your pattern is corrected before your real cloth is cut. It adds two to three weeks. A two-piece is $300, and every American Made order includes one.
